Update 23/08/2021 :Cisco Packet Tracer 8.0.1 build 8.0.1.0064 has been released as a maintenance release of Cisco Packet Tracer 8.0.0. Upgrade is advised for Cisco DevNet DEVASC and CCNA 7.0.2 students. Packet Tracer 8.0.x includes a new SDN network controller as well as REST API programming capabilities.

Update 26/08/2021 : GNS3 v2.2.24 has been released a few hours ago for download on Github. This released fixes incorrect Qemu binary selected when importing template as well as wrong error when NAT interface is not allowed.

Packet tracer 8.0.1 replaces Packet Tracer 8.0.0 and removes guest login (a valid netacad account is now required to use Cisco Packet Tracer) It is distributed as a debian package (.deb) for Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, provides a new SDN Network Controller and allow emulated network programming through API exposed by Packet Tracer to the host.

The NX-OSv 9000 is a virtual appliance designed to simulate the control plane of a Cisco Nexus 9000 switch.
